WoW News: Will of The Forsaken Nerf in Patch 3.3
October 28, 2009

It’s true I’m afraid and sad news for Undead Rogues…

Will of The Forsaken will share a 45-second cooldown with similar effects, including trinkets like Medallion of the Horde and Titan-Forged Rune of Determination, making it similar to Every Man for Himself… But…

The Human racial “removes ALL movement impairing effects which cause loss of control of your character”. Whilst Every Man for Himself has always shared a cooldown with other similar effects, Will of The Forsaken only removes any charm, fear and sleep effects.
I wonder if Blizzard have opened a “can of worms” with this one. Are they going to balance this change by nerfing Every Man for Himself too?

as i understand it, “every man for himself” already shares the cooldown with the trinkets.

Yes, you’re right Archaica. However EMfH does more than remove fear, sleep and charm. That’s the point. Humans also have Sword & Mace +3 expertise bonus (for PvE) and increased stealth detection with Perception for PvP.
I cannot see WoTF being OP in comparison to these racials before the nerf and certainly not after patch 3.3 hits.
I have heard, due to Worgen and Goblin racials Blizzard will be overhauling all racials anyhow so perhaps this us Undead players will just have to stick it out and wait and see what happens then.
Thanks for your comment!

indeed, i am both excited and worried to see the new expansion changes in action, as well as many of the patch 3.3.0 changes.
i do agree that the balancing needs a lot of work, and some races/classes have it better than others. having played both humans and forsaken, i can see what you mean.
you are quite welcome. i am new to wordpress and was just browsing for interesting reads, but i like the quality and content of your posts. you have gained a follower. >:}

I agree and I’m “both excited and (a little) worried”. I would have to say probably more excited than worried though. There’s always the option to change Race should Blizzard gimp Undead too much… Goblin or Worgen Rogue anyone?

i feel the same way, more excited than worried. very true, now that race and faction changes have been implemented. the possiblities are (almost) endless.

amagad cant believe this now ill have to pay faction change to become human ,emobastards from blizz

you are wrong, hordes are just complaining afff
Every Man for Himself removes everything, it is ok, but it shares CD of 2 minutes, not 45 seconds like Will of The Forsaken will be

true but Every Man For Himself allows humans to not have to buy alliance version of the pvp trinket. instead they can equip a second damage dealing or other beneficial trinket.
Forsaken will still need to waste a trinket slot on the pvp trinket while shareing a cooldown for a racial that does only half what the trinket itself does.

This is example once again of Blizzard catering to a crying few without any thought about the affect it will have on the community. The first thoughts everyone I knew had were what about Escape artist, everyman for themselves, so on and so forth. Its like the dev team doesnt even know the game they are working on. There is no justified reason to nerf one without the other. This has been a pattern with Activi$ion since they took over. Play the game your reaping huge profits on, check it out, learn the mechanics so when you say Change A it doesnt out balance B, C, D, E and F becuase you didnt think about it but every player did.

I’m just wondering why they keep progressively nerfing the forsaken and their racials? Wasn’t WoTF permanent in Beta? 20 seconds was a bit OP, or was it 15 to start with launch . . . but this is just ridiculous. The switch of the human racials already caused the number of human characters to practically triple if not quadruple, and forsaken aren’t nearly as popular as they were at launch, why the further WoTF nerfs? I mean for (poop)’s sakes, it’s one of the selectable choices for the “reason you are choosing to close your account”, that alone should say enough. I know I’m biased towards forsaken, but why don’t you just remove their racials all together? This is just going to continue to happen until it’s just a watered down version of the human racial if it isn’t already, and I’d rather just have a different racial then one that half shares one with my trinket. Balanced my (butt).
Beating a dead horse aside, I’ll never stop playing my rogue and war, I just wish Blizzard would stop trying to nail my foot to the floor.
