EoT = EoC

On WoW.com this week I was dissapointed when I read Blizzard are planning on making Emblems of Triumph the new Emblems of Conquest.

Meh! Meh! MEH! I suppose it was only to be expected.

Here’s the quote from Bornakk:

“The current plan is to make Emblems of Triumph the “base” of emblems so everything that drops Emblems of Conquest would be changed to Triumph and then the new raid content would drop the new highest emblem along with things like the heroic daily and such.”

Why is this Emblem of Triumph Farm-Fest different?

My problem with this is with EoC there is only a couple of Rogue Tier-8 items and a few accessories up for grabs. People still have to work on their gear if they really want to progress. With Emblems of Triumph you can get the FULL Tier 9 armor set.

Emblem of Conquest Rogue Gear

Compare the number slots you can fill up from Emblems of Conquest (6) with Emblems of Triumph (8). Not to mention with Emblems of Triumph you can get a COMPLETE armor set with BOTH set bonuses:

Emblems of Triumph Rogue Gear

This will be welcome news for those who are still gearing up (or perhaps even levelling). Of course there are still lots of items you can’t get from Emblems of Triumph which you will need to work on before the next raid instance (i.e. Weapons, Boots, Wrist, Cloak, Neck, etc) so they’re not giving you everything.

What is the point for the rest of us working hard to gear up at the moment?

Well you’ll be getting the good stuff (iLevel 245 and 258) which means you’ll be fully geared and ready to enter the new Icecrown Citadel raid as soon as patch 3.3 hits rather than having to grind Emblems.

Thank f*** for that!

Blizzard has opened up end-game content so more people get the full ”World of Warcraft experience”. This is a good thing and no-one can argue with that.

BUT…

Rewards should be EARNED. Great gear comes from working at it; knowing your class/role, looking up and learning tactics, downing the bosses and clearing raids. NOT from over-geared players farming Heroic Dungeons every day. What kind of achievement is that?

What do YOU think?

    Hmmmm….

One side of me really likes this.

    Pros:
    1) i can gear my rogue with gear I don’t have much time to get since I have been spending time on my druid.
    2) It makes it alot easier so you aren’t in noob class when you hit 80.

    Cons:

I raid with my rogue and enjoy doing that. I love playing my druid as well but don’t have the gear for serious raiding yet. not sure i have the nerves to raid heal with him either…..

I have managed to only get 1 piece of T-8 through a lucky role and 1 piece of T-9 by running the heroic daily. I still do quite well (top 2-3 DPS on a nornal night). But i think i appreciated the journey more that the actual end results. As my rogue was my first toon, it took countless hours of research to “figure out WOW” much less “figure out a rogue”. I will be bi-polar on this issue. On one hand, it is will be easier to gear up new tanks and heals since they are always in demand and in short supply, but on the other hand, it makes it that much more competative for that coveted Rogue slot on a raiding team. It may actually eliminate it all together since just about every other class brings buffs (ToT isn’t the same) and can duel spec a different role.

      BETTER ACCESS TO BETTER GEAR…

I agree and can see the upside being guild alts having access to better gear and can fill those valuable slots they may be missing.

This is also a good thing.

ROGUE RAID SPOTS & RAID BUFFS…

I certainly don’t see the exclusion of Rogues in raids now. In the past there were problems (with Naxxaramas definitely).

Yes, other classes bring buffs but we can too with Drums of the Wild, Drums of Forgotten Kings, and the Inscription Fortitude scroll.

Ok, anyone and everyone has access to those (you can buy them on the auction house or get a guildie to craft them for you).

However, there has been a hint from Blizzard they are working on a raid buff Rogues can bring. I have no idea when (yet) or what it’ll be.

Watch this space… I’ll let you know as soon as it’s announced!
